Time to end the News

The recent series of BBC1’S Have I Got News For You was evidence the show has reached the end of its life. Virtually all the elements that made it a success are now missing, and it’s become little more than a platform for Ian Hislop and the guest presenters to air their personal political views. Paul Merton has been reduced to an afterthought. Such a shame, as it used to be a highlight of the week.
