PICK OF THE DAY

SAS: WHO DARES WINS

9PM, CH4 ★★★★

It’s the final of this ultra-lean, ultra-mean, trimmed-down sixth series, and only seven of the original 21 contestants are still standing – just about. Now, they must endure the dreaded interrogation phase, a relentless barrage of insults, white noise and mind games that are designed to break the strongest of them. For those who survive these ominous and brutal tactics, the challenges are not yet over. One final gruelling physical push, on the island’s highest peak, Dun Caan, awaits. Will recruit number 19 (aka Adam, right) be a winner or a quitter?

COUNTRYFILE

7PM, BBC1 ★★★★

Matt Baker and Anita Rani return to the high-tech Lilburn family dairy farm in County Down, Northern Ireland. Matt helps to feed the cows, while Anita has the slightly better job of seeing how their milk is made into delicious ice cream. Also tonight, John Craven launches the 30th Countryfile Photographic Competition.

BRITAIN’S MOST LUXURIOUS HOTELS

8PM, CH4 ★★★

The destination for this final peek inside Britain’s most luxurious hotels is Chewton Glen in Hampshire. It’s popular with celebrities, and Amanda Holden and Chris Evans are among the guests sampling the champagne tonight, while preparations for a party are hampered by the weather.

TIME

9PM, BBC1 ★★★★ All three episodes of Jimmy Mcgovern’s crime drama are available to view on iplayer, but this is the kind of watch that benefits from taking a breather between episodes. Tonight, prison guard Eric (Stephen Graham) finds himself in an increasingly precarious position, and Mark (Sean Bean) must find a way to survive the violence inside.
