This unmissable documentary tracks the race to get Covid-19 vaccines developed and approved, and gives faces to the dedicated scientists around the world (including the University of Oxford’s Katie Ewer, right) who achieved in months what usually takes years. Each vaccine is designed using a different approach, and the science bits are explained well here, demystifying what goes into those all-important shots – and how they work. But even though the jabs are rolling out in vast numbers, challenges remain.

The grand final has arrived and, after nine weeks, 12 sewers have been trimmed down to three. Serena, Raph and Rebecca have their work cut out tonight as judges Esme and Patrick have snuck a few tricky details into each of the challenges. Who will be crowned this year’s winner?

For the second of their three cold case investigations, Emilia Fox and criminologist David Wilson re-examine the disappearance of Suzy Lamplugh on July 28, 1986. Despite widespread media interest, Suzy’s case remains unsolved. Emilia and David follow a trail of clues that points to just one key suspect.

UNDERCOVER IN AFRICA’S SECRET STATE: DISPATCHES

Eritrea, in east Africa, has been under dictatorial rule for two decades, resulting in an exodus of some half a million refugees. This documentary by filmmaker Evan Williams – who has been gathering secretly shot footage from inside Eritrea – reveals what life is like under this repressive regime.
