Pop star arrest over ‘attack on girlfriend’

Daily Mail Reporter

AN AWARD-winning singer has been arrested for allegedly attacking his girlfriend during a row at her flat.

The pop star, who is in his 30s, was arrested by police on suspicion of common assault and taken to a south London police station after officers were called to the home at 6.03pm on Tuesday to deal with reports of a ‘disturbance’.

The London-born singer, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was alleged to have attacked the unnamed woman during an argument at her home.

Officers arrived at the address after neighbours reported hearing screams from the property, according to reports. Upon their arrival, police spoke to the singer – whose career in the music industry spans two decades – and his girlfriend and took him to the police station where his fingerprints, photo and a DNA swab were taken.

He has now been bailed until the end of this month. The woman reported minor injuries but did not require any treatment in hospital.

A source told The Sun: ‘Apparently, he had a row with a girlfriend that ended up getting out of hand. There was a lot of screaming and one of the woman’s neighbours called the police. They turned up, nicked him and led him away.’
