Supercar sales soaring

LAMBORGHINI has said that it has almost sold out of its cars for the year, as wealthy customers divert funds saved during lockdown to supercars.

The Italian luxury brand has sold about 10 months of its production capacity, the company’s chief executive officer, Stephan Winkelmann, said at the Milano Monza Motor Show, which is being held this week.

‘Despite a two-month shutdown due to the pandemic, Lamborghini ended 2020 as its second-best year ever,’ he added.

Lamborghini said that deliveries have surged by almost 25pc to a record during the first quarter of this year.
