T P SPIN ON THE TEST

By LAWRENCE BOOTH

WHEN Stuart Broad trapped New Zealand captain Tom Latham lbw for six, he moved level with West Indies great Courtney Walsh on 519 Test wickets. And he drew clear with the wicket of Devon Conway. Only five bowlers are now ahead of him in the all-time list.

THERE is another list in which Broad still trails Walsh — but he did close the gap with his 37th Test duck, moving clear of New Zealand’s Chris Martin. Only Walsh, with 43, is in front of Broad. TRENT BOULT became the fourth Kiwi to take 500 international wickets when he removed Jimmy Anderson. Ahead of him lie Daniel Vettori (696), Tim Southee (598) and Richard Hadlee (589).
