SLOPPY IN THE SLIPS
THE catch dropped by Joe Root to reprieve Will Young on seven off Olly Stone confirmed England’s status as one of worst slip-catching teams in Tests. Since the start of 2019, they have dropped 26 of the 114 slip chances that have come their way, a success rate of 76.36 per cent. Only Bangladesh (76 per cent) and West Indies (75 per cent) have fared worse. New Zealand are top of the list, having caught 47 of their 52 chances — 90.38 per cent.
