Victory for us Waspis, but no thanks to Boris
VictorY for the WASPi (Women Against State Pension inequality) failed by the rise in pension age (Mail). the ombudsman has agreed the Department for Work and Pensions failed to alert women like me born in the 1950s about the rise in our state pension age.
in the run-up to the General Election, Boris Johnson promised to look at this issue, but he’s done nothing. fine words when seeking our votes need to be followed up with fine actions.

THE WASPI women have been vindicated — the way they were denied their pensions was unjust. Will they receive compensation? i hope the Government acts swiftly.
A. HOLDEN, Claycross, Derbys. The ombudsman ruling is a vindication and victory for the WASPI campaign. But where is the campaign for men who traditionally were not entitled to their state pension until aged 65, now 66? Surely, the Sex Discrimination Act should have prohibited this. instead the qualification for women was raised to the same age. What a fiasco.
