Fair play on social care
POLITICAL commentators have suggested a 1 per cent increase in National insurance to fund social care will hit lower and middle income earners the hardest.
this seems to assume the youngest and poorest will get free social care as they may not own a home to fund it and will rely on the taxpayer to support them.
it is impossible to forecast who will need social care so it is only fair all pay towards it.
the very well off will gain from whatever approach is devised. No method is perfect, which is nothing new when it comes to Government decisions. GREGORY BROWN,
