Awakenings

Movies Classic, 9pm Robert De Niro and Robin Williams (above) star in this dramatisation of neurologist Oliver Sacks’s book, based on his success in ‘awakening’ patients who were victims of a so-called sleeping sickness in the 1920s. Williams excels as the shy scientist, but it was De Niro who got the Oscar nomination.
