Villa sign £33m Buendia

ASTON VILLA have beaten Arsenal to sign Emiliano Buendia from Norwich for a club-record £33million, with add-ons up to £40m.

Arsenal had offered £30m with add-ons for the midfielder after learning that Real Madrid want £50m for Martin Odegaard.

Buendia had a medical in Argentina yesterday after agreeing personal terms. He is currently with his country’s squad for their World Cup qualifiers and the Copa America. The package for the Championship player of the year includes giving Norwich a percentage of any deal should Villa sell him on.

Meanwhile the Midlands club are braced for a bid from Manchester City for their £100m-rated England midfielder Jack Grealish.
