JD Sports’ executive chairman Peter Cowgill bought 50,000 shares in the retailer on Monday at £8.62 each, taking his holding to 0.4 per cent of issued share capital. The FTSE 100 firm recently invested in Gym King and also became the official retail partner of Leeds United Football Club.
