Quick march! Just Stop Oil stunt foiled in two minutes

JUST Stop Oil fanatics were foiled within minutes of starting their latest march yesterday, with police arresting the dwindling band of protesters before they caused major disruption. Around 40 activists gathered at Trafalgar Square for the first in a series of daily protests. But after slow marching some 50 yards along Whitehall they were dragged on to the pavement by police, with 15 arrested. The group moaned online: ‘15 people, arrested for marching for 2 minutes, will now face up to 1 year in prison. This is what our democracy has become.’ JSO have carried out 12 days of action this month, leading to 570 arrests and 202 charges – the group had a ‘target’ of 1,000 arrests by the end of this week.
