Scot’s return after months in Iraqi prison

AN ENGINEER arrived home in Scotland yesterday for an emotional reunion with his family after two months locked in a rat-infested jail in Iraq.

After the terrifying ordeal sparked by an alleged unpaid debt, Brian Glendinning was met by a dozen close relatives, including his three daughters, at Edinburgh Airport.

His wife Kimberly hugged him, and he embraced mum Meta, who sobbed with relief.

Mr Glendinning, 43, from Fife, was detained at Basra airport on September 12 after Interpol issued a wanted notice over sums outstanding. Yesterday he said: ‘I just did not think this day was coming any time soon.’
