In a raw and powerful series, the Oscarwinning director Steve Mcqueen (12 Years A Slave) takes us back to 1981 to examine a key year in the history of the black British community. In January of that year, the New Cross fire left 13 young black people dead, and pushed already simmering racial tensions to boiling point.

LES DAWSON: THE LOST TAPES ITV HUB ★★★★

It would have been Les Dawson’s 90th birthday on February 2, and this warm documentary celebration marks that occasion. It features previously unseen family footage, plus tributes from a long list of famous fans and friends – including Gloria Hunniford and Ruth Madoc – and reflections from his wife and daughter.
