While caring for her rich grandmother Lydia Simmonds in a bid to inherit her fortune, Janine Malloy (pictured, with Lydia) realised she loved her and was devastated when she died. Her grief was softened by being named in Lydia’s will.

15 YEARS AGO – EMMERDALE

It was a race against time when the King family’s show home was destroyed in a gas explosion (pictured), trapping a load of residents. Noreen Bell and estate agent David Brown died when the house collapsed and Dawn Hope later died of her injuries.

20 YEARS AGO – CORRIE

Martin Platt fell for his ex-wife Gail’s best friend Sally Webster during a camping trip in the Dales with their respective children. At the end of the week’s holiday, the pair got tipsy and shared a kiss by the campfire (pictured).
