Tony Robinson played the many Baldricks through the ages, each one doomed to be the servant or hapless sidekick of the scheming Blackadder. The series was a TV comedy hit, though it’s the tragic final scene to the series, set in the First World War, that lingers in the mind. TV veterans Peter Fincham and Jon Plowman tell the inside story of Blackadder, while Tony shares some backstage secrets.

The Three Choirs Festival has been running for more than 300 years, bringing together singers from Hereford, Worcester and Gloucester Cathedrals. Choirs couldn’t meet during lockdown, but now, the wonder of live choral music is coming back to our churches and cathedrals. Today’s service comes from Worcester Cathedral, and will include the premiere of an anthem by John Rutter, called A Pilgrim’s Prayer. SJ
