Me and my TJ Hooker co-stars Heather Locklear and James Darren are all tooled up for action here. I really enjoyed shooting that show because it was filmed on the LA streets instead of in a studio. Hooker was an old-fashioned policeman puzzled by the new rules when he gives up being a detective to go back into uniform on patrol after his partner is killed. For research, I hung out with the cops at the LA Police Academy. I got to direct a lot of episodes too and became pretty handy with a camera.
