PICK OF THE DAY

HOLLINGTON DRIVE

9PM, ITV ★★★★

Acting heavyweights Rachael Stirling and Anna Maxwell Martin (right) star in another one of those TV thrillers in which a glossy surface hides some very deep cracks. They play Helen and Theresa, sisters who seem to have it all: loving partners, beautiful homes and children who like to play (and argue) together. But one sunny afternoon, after the kids come back from the park, a child is reporting missing. Surely, Helen and Theresa’s angelic offspring couldn’t be involved, could they? But it’s not long before secrets and lies begin to bubble to the surface…

THE GADGET SHOW 7PM, CH5 ★★★

The tech-savvy team are back with another 12 episodes crammed full of all the best consumer advice. Jon Bentley kicks things off by running the rule over three budget phones from Apple, Google and Samsung, before Craig Charles tests a device that claims to freshen up your clothes without a washing machine.

THE REPAIR SHOP 8PM, BBC1

★★★★★

Jess Hiles has been cuddling her beloved dolls, Amy and David, for more than 30 years. A faded drum kit from the 1950s is now more rack and ruin than rock and roll. And a 2,000-year-old terracotta figure arrives in pieces after being smashed during a move. Can the team restore these treasures to their former glory?

28 UP: MILLENNIUM GENERATION 9PM, BBC1

★★★★

Here is a delightful chance to catch up with the children we first met, aged seven, at the dawn of the new millennium. They are now 28 years old and at a crossroads in their lives, a situation made harder by the pandemic. Find out what they decide to do in this three-part reunion. MM
