George Butterworth’s The Banks Of Green Willow – a work that makes you feel that you’re drifting along a calm river in a punt, where willow trees trail in the water – is on her list. Schubert’s The Trout, about a wily fish trying to outwit a determined fisherman, is also on the show, and Moira includes her own favourite, Nikolai Rimsky-korsakov’s magical Scheherazade. Aaron Copland’s Fanfare For The Common Man gets the programme off to a bright, brash and optimistic start.
