★★★ Cashing in on the Queen’s love for the breed of dog with the stumpy legs, this animation follows corgi Rex (left) as he gets lost and must find his way back home to the palace. Watch out for an animated Donald Trump – it’s not a pretty sight.

This romantic comedy was a runaway hit, tapping in to a fairytale dreamworld of fantastic wealth far beyond most of us. Constance Wu is the likeable ordinary American who is thrown into the epicentre of Singapore’s moneyoozing elite when she accompanies her boyfriend, Nick (British actor Henry Golding), to Asia for a wedding (above). There, she comes face to face with Nick’s terrifying – and terrifyingly wealthy – mother (Michelle Yeoh), and the rest of his eye-wateringly rich circle.

Rebranding himself as an action star, Liam Neeson is Brian Mills, the wrong father to mess with in this fast, frantic and gripping thriller. While on an unsupervised trip to Europe, his daughter is kidnapped from a Paris hotel room. In this fifth film in the hit action thriller franchise, Matt Damon’s rogue assassin is still on the run from the CIA, and he’s looking for some answers about his father’s involvement in the programme that turned his own life upside down. Alicia Vikander is a friend on the inside, with Paul Greengrass directing the globetrotting action.
