★★★ Have you warmed to Detective Superintendent Roy Grace over the past three episodes? He’s slouched around his Brighton and East Sussex patch in grey suits and grey mood – understandable, perhaps, given his messy personal life and the estranged wife whose whereabouts remain unknown. His cases, too, have been on the grim and nasty side, and tonight’s final investigation is no exception. It starts when the body of a young man is pulled from the English Channel – minus his eyes – and that discovery pulls the team into a moral black hole. The question is, will Grace ever learn the fate of his wife?
