On the steps of a church, in the toilets of a hospital, inside a London phone box on a freezing cold night – these are all places where abandoned babies were found. These so-called foundlings start an emotional journey tonight, and over the next two nights, as Davina Mccall and Nicky Campbell search for clues that may connect them with their families and where they came from. It’s impossible not to be moved by these stories, and the answers, though not easy to come by, have a profound and at times overwhelming impact on the foundlings featured.
