Like the Giro d’italia and the Tour de France, the year’s final grand tour starts abroad, so not in Spain but in Utrecht in the Netherlands. After three days of flat racing, the 21-stage tour moves to the Basque Country before heading south to Andalusia then into the mountains of Extremadura before finishing in Madrid. The 2021 edition was won by Slovenia’s Primoz Roglic, with Brit Adam Yates fourth.
