BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC

COMEDY SEQUEL

In the original movies, amiable idiots Bill and Ted were supposed to write a song that would bring peace to humanity. Fast forward 29 years for this long-delayed sequel to those time-travelling comedies, and the middle-aged pair still haven’t written anything. Is it time to give up on the dream of youth? Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves bring just the right level of reality to Bill and Ted (above) here, in a story that wisely and gently shifts the focus to their daughters, who look as goofy as their dads but have considerably more going on upstairs. This is a well-judged sequel in general, with a great balance of heart and humour, and which should have an even wider appeal than the originals. From today
