Spooky flatmates

When this supernatural flatshare series hit BBC3 in 2009, it became clear that Aidan Turner (above, centre, with Russell Tovey and Lenora Crichlow) was going to be a star. How could he not be, in a role like that of tortured vampire Mitchell? Poldark followed of course and the rest is history, but this five-series show is worth revisiting beyond the chance to see him on the way up. Mitchell’s flatmates, a werewolf (Tovey) and a ghost (Crichlow), are trying to live a normal life like him, and the moments of them at home together having tea, trying to resist the pull of their spooky lives, are when it’s at its best.
