ORPHAN BLACK CLONE THRILLER

Tatiana Maslany (above), who’s currently playing She-hulk on Disney+, won widespread acclaim for her performance in this dark sci-fi thriller. It’s more accurate to say performances – plural – because she plays multiple characters, all clones but all with wildly different looks and personalities. It’s impressive to watch her in action, playing the five main examples (and a handful of others) and an awful lot of work went into the performances. To help differentiate between them all, Maslany created different playlists of music – controlling mother Alison, for instance, was a fan of West Side Story and Les Miserables, while Sarah (the main clone) liked to listen to The Prodigy and The Clash, which makes sense, as

that character is feisty and British. The show itself builds a complex and fascinating world as it evolves over five series, but Maslany’s performances are the glue that holds all of that together. All4
