UKRAINE’S MUSICAL FREEDOM FIGHTERS WITH CLIVE MYRIE 7.35PM, BBC2

★★★★★

‘My baton is my weapon, it’s one that reaches to the soul, it’s not one that kills.’ In this musical celebration that was – like Strictly (right) and Kylie At The BBC (below right) – postponed because of the death of the Queen, Clive Myrie follows the journey of Ukrainian musicians from their war-torn homeland to the Royal Albert Hall stage. More than 70 musicians came together to form a new ensemble with the aim of bringing their message of peace to the Proms. Here, we see Clive travelling across Ukraine to meet them and following rehearsals when they arrive in the UK with just ten days to prepare for their Proms performance in July.

HITLER: THE LOST TAPES 8.10PM, CH4

★★★★

In part two of this fascinating look at how the dictator was portrayed through the lenses of Hitler’s official photographer and his assistant, the focus is on footage of the Fuhrer at home. Images of him playing with dogs and children were carefully curated and circulated both within Germany and abroad, the better to distance him from the abhorrent policies and practices he put in place.
