Jake Blount (right) is on Mark Radcliffe’s show tonight with tracks from his new album, The New Faith. It’s a concept album, set in a world devastated by climate change. The tracks include old gospel songs such as Take Me To The Water, plus new music. Jake draws on gospel harmonies and bluegrass in this account of a group of black Americans drawing on their musical past to survive. The concept’s a bit worthy – but the music’s terrific.
