home and heads to Stow-on-the-wold, where she shops for old treasures with antiques expert Paul Martin. After a tour of the awe-inspiring Cheddar Gorge, with its deep caverns and dramatic cliffs, Pam walks the oldest streets in Europe in Wells. Next, the poet pretends to be a student at Oxford – in the ‘city of dreaming spires’ she discovers the pleasures of punting, marvels at the books in the centuries-old Bodleian Library, and tours the University’s biggest college quad with one of its bowler-hatted custodians.
