CLASSIC CULT SCI-FI

The story doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but that’s not what this cult sci-fi is remembered for. It’s all about the visuals, including the incredible costumes worn by Jane Fonda’s title character (below), as well as the inventive set designs. Back in 1968, it was fair to say no one had ever seen anything like it. Based on a French comic strip, Barbarella is a space adventurer who spends some of her time searching for a missing scientist – when she’s not taking various wild detours.
