This documentary series follows the work of the coroner, lifting the veil on the formal process that investigates sudden, unnatural and unexplained deaths. Senior coroner Dr James Adeley and his team in Lancashire deal with as many as nine deaths each night, working alongside the police, hospitals and relatives to pull together the information they need.
