THE MENU searing satire

Disney+

Arrogant guests arrive on an island for a fine dining experience, served by a chef with very high standards – played by Ralph Fiennes (right) with a powerful dash of Anthony Hopkins in The Silence Of The Lambs. A fine-tuned mix of social satire and simmering horror ensues as we’re introduced to the guests and try to figure out if any of them have any redeeming features. They’re played by a strong cast including Anya Taylor-joy (The Queen’s Gambit) and Nicholas Hoult (The Great), who all do a great job of keeping us guessing as the film builds to a terrifyingly tense conclusion. It’s a dark treat to be able to devour The Menu at home – it was only released in cinemas in November.
