The fourth episode opens with Sunny still in Paris, while back in London, Jessie steels herself for the day ahead. Why didn’t her team know that he was abroad, interviewing Karol? There have been a lot of crossed wires in this latest series, with Jessie struggling for acceptance by not just her officers, but also us – Cassie still casts a long shadow over the show and the lives of her friends and colleagues, not least Sunny. Don’t miss his heart to heart with Jessie; he tells her: ‘I can’t work like this – next to you, but not with you.’ When they finally open up to each other, it’s painful but cathartic, and reinvigorates the investigation.
