INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS JOHN WICK

(2009) 18

9PM, 5STAR

A gloriously skewed alternative history of the Second World War from cinema’s mad genius Quentin Tarantino, who proves he can do talky in three languages. Christoph Waltz stars as the feared ‘Jewhunter’, an especially nasty Nazi, while Brad Pitt (left centre, with Eli Roth and Til Schweiger) is his opposite number, the leader of a gung-ho band of Nazi-hunters on a mission behind enemy lines.

(2014) 15 10PM, ITV4 ★★★★ Russian gangsters steal the wrong muscle car and kill the wrong dog in this noir-tinged action thriller. Both Mustang and beagle belong to John Wick (Keanu Reeves), a retired hit man whose only course of action is simple, bullet-raining revenge. The supporting cast includes Ian Mcshane and Willem Dafoe.

RADIOACTIVE (2019) 12

11.15PM, BBC2 This biopic of Marie Salomea Sklodowska-curie – or Marie Curie, as she’s better known – tells the story of the physicist and chemist and her pioneering research on radioactivity. Rosamund Pike is impressive as the brave Curie, a woman working very much in a man’s world.
