The backpacking adventure returns, this time with pairs of Brits traversing the breadth of Canada, via seven checkpoints, for the cost of the air fare (that’s a budget of £2,498.13 apiece). The teams are upbeat at the start of the challenge, which begins in Stanley Park in Vancouver, but Canada is expensive as well as stunning, and public transport is patchy, to say the least. For each of the teams, including Claudia and dad Kevin (right), the experience is about more than just winning the race.
