There’ll also be some joy on the programme in the form of the Grammy-winning singer Samara Joy, who’ll give a live session that includes an Ella Fitzgerald classic.

TUESDAY, 3.30PM, RADIO 4

The sounds of nature, such as waves crashing on a shore, can have a calming effect on us, but there are other sounds that, though our human ears can’t hear them, can heal both our bodies and our minds. Nick Luscombe meets a team of Japanese scientists who are carrying out research into the health benefits of these very high frequencies that exist in the natural world, and exploring ways these sounds can be brought into our cities.
