Phone’s a turn-off

I NEVER felt the need to have a mobile phone, but my children convinced me it’s a good idea in case of an emergency.

i have a cheap mobile with just the numbers for my family and the car breakdown service, and it’s turned off unless i want to use it. i’d find it intrusive to be at the beck and call of all and sundry.

My daughter and granddaughter have had their home and school lives messed about by NhS test and trace, i don’t want to gossip via WhatsApp and have seen too many special occasions disrupted by heads bowed over screens.

call me old-fashioned, but my phone is for my convenience and no one else’s.
