On the heir... Charles launches climate change TV channel

Daily Mail Reporter

PRINCE Charles has launched a television channel on Amazon Prime focusing on climate change.

In a direct plea, Charles said humanity had to ‘act now’ in addressing the issues faced by the planet.

The channel, named RE:TV, will highlight projects from across the world that transform how business is done to help create a cleaner, more sustainable economy.

It is understood that Charles is not being paid for his role as editor-in-chief of the channel, which will screen new films and existing material.

Content will include topics such as sustainability, the natural environment and innovation, with a focus on industries such as coffee production and fashion.

The Prince of Wales first set up the channel on its own online platform last year. The move to Amazon Prime, which has 200 million members, offers a vast potential audience.

Charles said: ‘I’ve spent a lot of my lifetime trying to engage people and businesses with the issues and solutions of the climate crisis.’ In a promotional video, he says: ‘We’ve forgotten that we are part of nature, so what we do to the world around us we are doing totally to ourselves.’
