TRANSPORT

£6.9billion will be given to areas including Greater Manchester, the West Midlands and South Yorkshire to ‘level up’ transport via projects such as tram and bus service improvements.

NHS DIGITAL OVERHAUL

£5.9billion to help tackle NHS backlogs and invest in technology and data in a bid to improve efficiency as well as security within the health service.

HEALTH RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

£5billion will be spent over the next three years to fund research and development in areas such as genome sequencing, tackling health inequalities, and spotting diseases in babies.

SKILLS REVOLUTION

£3billion for both post16 education and also for adults later in life.

There will be skills boot camps in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and nuclear.

SPECIAL EDUCATION AND DISABILITIES

£2.6billion to go on tripling funding for children with disabilities and special educational needs, with up to 30,000 new places set to be made available.

HOUSING ON BROWNFIELD SITES

£1.8billion to be spent on regenerating land, as well as digitising the planning system and creating 100 new urban ‘pocket parks’.

GLOBAL BRITAIN INVESTMENT FUND

£1. billion of grants for international firms to invest in

UK’s critical industries such as electric vehicles and life sciences, including resilience against future pandemics.

MUSEUMS AND GALLERIES

£850million to restore and upgrade some of the country’s most popular institutions such as London’s V&A museum and Tate Liverpool, as well as regional museums and libraries.

BORDER PROTECTION

£700million to replace ageing Border Force vessels with 11 new cutters to help tackle organised crime and illegal migration, plus plans to digitise authorisation for foreign tourists.

SPORT

football pitches, tennis courts as well as youth facilities to help foster future generations of young talent and find the next Emma Raducanu.

MATHS COACHING

£ 60million to enable 00,000 adults to access free personal tutoring and digital courses to improve their maths skills.

FAMILY HUBS

£ 00million on a new Sure Start-style scheme to give children the ‘best possible start in life’ by supporting families in new ‘family hubs’.

CRIME PREVENTION

£43 million to fund better CCTV, improved street lighting to tackle violent offences against women, plus additional funding for Crown Prosecution Service.

DRAGONS DEN

£1 0million of funding for the British Business Bank which will encourage the development of regional networks of Dragons’ Den-style angel investors to help people start up businesses.

VETERANS’ HEALTH

£ million to help military veterans, including funding for innovative surgery which allows artificial limbs to be permanently fixed to bones.

POST-BREXIT TAX CHANGES

Unknown cost. Ships that fly the Union Jack and those which help the UK reach net zero will both be more likely to be accepted if applying to the UK’s tonnage tax regime.
