Court bars eco mob from ALL our roads

By Josh White

INSULATE Britain activists were effectively banned from all major roads in England yesterday following a landmark High Court ruling.

It came as eco-zealots brought parts of central London to a standstill once again yesterday – several of them superglueing their hands, feet or faces to roads.

Judges approved the application of an injunction against protesting on 4,300 miles of motorways and major A-roads, also known as the Strategic Road Network.

Anyone breaking it faces unlimited fines or jail for contempt of court. It had been thought that the application, made by the country’s roads agency National Highways, would not be granted because it is so wide-ranging and unprecedented.

But Transport Secretary Grant Shapps confirmed last night that the injunction had been granted on a temporary basis.

Yesterday’s blockades – the first in ten days by the group – triggered fury from Londoners.

In one heated exchange, a man said he was trying to get his father to hospital for cancer treatment.

Hundreds were arrested after yesterday’s stunts.
