No rules were broken at No 10 party, says Boris

BORIS Johnson yesterday denied breaking coronavirus rules amid claims that he attended a ‘boozy’ party at No 10 during the second lockdown last year.

The Prime Minister insisted Covid guidance was followed despite reports that up to 50 people attended the leaving do just weeks before Christmas.

It was a ‘Covid nightmare’ with people ‘cheek by jowl’ in a medium-sized room at No 10 on November 27 last year, a source told the Daily Mirror.

Another source told the Mail ‘it wasn’t a party as such’ but an impromptu leaving do for a long-serving staffer at which ‘drink was taken’.

The Prime Minister’s official spokesman yesterday did not deny the gathering had taken place but said: ‘At all stages the rules have been followed.’
