Emotional poverty

little thought is paid by the Government to the financial plight of pensioners, but even less attention is paid to their emotional poverty.

Many live alone because their partners have died and not all are blessed with caring families living locally.

they often have no idea who or how to ask for help, finding even contacting their GP surgery difficult. technology has left many behind and especially since lockdown they are feeling isolated.

the prospect of winter is bleak. they are the generation who were brought up not to complain and to just get on with it. it is a disgrace that our elderly are being made to feel they are a nuisance.
