Carr husband is freed over drink-driving
COMIC Alan Carr’s estranged husband was freed from jail yesterday as he won an appeal against his sentence for drink-driving.
Paul Drayton, 50, broke down as his 14-week prison term was reduced and then suspended.
The court heard he was more than four times over the drinkdrive limit when he reversed into a police car near his West Sussex home last October.
But he was released from jail following an appeal at Brighton Crown Court after his lawyer successfully argued his mental health would be adversely affected by a prison sentence.
Drayton, of Itching-field, who has recently split from Carr, 45, was handed 30 days of rehabilitation work and was banned from driving for three years.
