Nail him! Burglar’s severed finger clue

CARELESS thieves often leave behind fingerprints at the scene of their crimes.

But one hapless burglar dropped an even bigger – and considerably more painful – clue to his identity when he left behind a severed finger.

The unlucky thief was injured on a barbed wire fence during a raid on a recycling plant in Milan this week.

A guard later found a friend of the suspect searching through leaves by the fence. He told the guard: ‘I’m looking for his finger with his wedding ring on.’ He then fled with an accomplice waiting in a nearby car. The finger was later found stuck in the fence but without the ring on.

Police are now trying to identify the suspect using prints from the severed digit.
