Oz minister in Voldemort jibe at rival

AUSTRALIA’S new education minister was forced into a grovelling apology after likening a rival with a skin condition to Harry Potter’s archenemy Lord Voldemort.

Days into the job, Labor’s Tanya Plibersek said that Liberal Peter Dutton would scare children who saw him on television.

Mr Dutton, 51, said personal jibes could be ‘nasty and mean’, adding: ‘I was diagnosed with a skin condition a couple of years ago, so it’s just a reality of getting older. I’m not the prettiest bloke on the block but I hope that I’m going to be pretty effective.’
