How sleazy

THE alcohol culture in Downing Street — even without lockdown regulations that were clearly ignored — appears sleazy and irresponsible.

If civil servants, members of the government and the Prime Minister are unable to see this, none are fit for office.

LIKE most people I know, I am sick and tired of Partygate. A fortune has been spent investigating it when the money could have been better spent on tackling knife crime, assaults and burglaries. We all know of someone who broke the rules during lockdown. It shouldn’t have happened, but it is all in the past.

let the Government sort out more important issues.

I AM still prepared to support Boris and the Conservatives. he hasn’t got everything right, but I earnestly believe he is doing his best for the country.

I feel truly sorry for those who lost loved ones, but how many of us fully complied with all the rules all the time?

I know I didn’t. I have been a carer for a friend in remission and, yes, we were together most days during the lockdowns. We would drink wine, not always on our own.
