POISONOUS PLANTS
WHEN I featured oleanders recently, a number of people pointed out that they’re poisonous. Nerium oleander has been grown in gardens worldwide for centuries. And like most members of the plant family, Apocynaceae are poisonous. The leaves would be dangerous if eaten by pets. Oleanders rely on bees for pollination. They attract the pollinators with fragrance but provide no nectar. Bees then fly away hungry, but with pollen stuck to them.
