CLEMATIS TANGUTICA

THIS clematis produces garlands loaded with foursepalled, lemon-yellow flowers. Autumn seed heads develop among later yellow blooms keeping the plant attractive into winter. If left until spring, birds love the feather seedheads to line their nests. Coming from Tibet, this variety is hardy in our climate. It is also one of oriental clematis species and varieties with yellow flowers. Similar varieties to consider include C. Bill MacKenzie and early flowering C. Helios. These climbers perform best in fertile and well-drained soil and need full sun for part of the day.
