LEARN TO SOCIALISE AT HOME

I THINK one of the best things we can give to our children is an understanding of where we can find joy and wellbeing without spending money. Many of us organise our social life around restaurant visits or bars. So if money becomes tight, we risk becoming isolated.

To counter that, suggest to your friends that you set up a ‘free fun fellowship’, where each member of the group takes a turn in planning an inexpensive activity to host at home (think board games, charades). No wonder hygge has been called socialising for introverts.
